We are pleased to announce that Professor Yoshimi Furukawa has joined InovaLigo as an advisor.
Professor Furukawa (Ph.D. in Engineering) graduated from the University of Tokyo and completed his doctorate there. He went on to lead a number of cutting-edge research and development projects at Honda R&D Co., Ltd., including four-wheel steering (4WS), autonomous driving, and humanoid robotics.
For his invention of the 4WS system, he has received numerous prestigious awards, including Japan’s prestigious Prime Minister’s Award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to technological innovation.
After his time at Honda, he continued his work at Shibaura Institute of Technology, contributing to the development of driver-assistance systems and compact mobility solutions.
Today, Professor Furukawa plays active roles in a wide range of fields, serving as Professor Emeritus at Shibaura Institute of Technology, Board Director of the Honda Foundation (a public interest incorporated association), and Professor and Senior Executive Advisor to the President at the Professional University of Electric Mobility Systems.
In addition to his accomplishments as an engineer, researcher, and educator, he has authored books on topics such as sake and soba noodles, and also performs in bluegrass and jazz bands. His energetic and multifaceted lifestyle is truly inspiring.
